Julio Mario Santodomingo library


The Structure is made of 3 floors with a capacity of 1.332 persons, it also have a  underground parking and a exterior parking with a capacity of 480 cars, is one of the most biggest and developed libraries on Bogota, it has  23,000 square meters and two theaters.





The Public Library or Cultural Center Julio Mario Santo Domingo is composed  of a library, a theater for concerts, shows and theater productions it also have a studio theater, conference rooms, internet rooms and other services, it have a cafeteria where you could drink coffe and read(:



It is Located on  el Parque Zonal San José de Bavaria,calle 170 con carrera 67 Of Bogotá.
It is Really a nice place to relax and to spend a greet time, the library have many diferent things for youu, you should go there and enjoy it a lot!

Theaters

Teatro Colón.

This theater is a very big one, it is very elegant, and it is "luxury". It is located on Downtown Bogota. This theater is used for Opera, or just to play some classical music concerts.






















This theater is located at la Candelaria, a great neighbourhood.(it is explained in another article). This theater is highlighted in Bogota, because it has been one of the most beautiful theaters, since 1885.















Sincerly this is a wonderful place in which you can enjoy, and apreciate music, aschitecture, design and more things that this beautiful theater has. Once again, you, yes you, im talking to you, you should go there.

This restaurant is an exelent place where you can have fun, good food, and enjoy. This restaurant is very big and it is very different than the other ones, in many aspects. Such as the arquitecture, decoration and food.

This is a great place, you can go with your family or friends, the little kids are not going to be bored, even, it would be better for them, they can take some activities and have fun. At night this place becomes an exellent place for dancing, at this hour there wont be allowed small kids.

La Calendaria


A neighbourhood in Bogota.

It is located at the center of bogota it is the heart of history and cultural of the city. It attract artist, turists, writers, and intellectuals, who arrived to theaters, librarys and universities. The visitors can find there the colonial houses with their tipic windows, carved gates, roof with red tiling, the town hall is always renewing the structure but saving the old that characterized it.


La Calendaria was a place to rest for de muisca named zipa, they say that in that place Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada founded what is now Bogotá.  Then they founded La Plaza De Bolivar, there they founded the first church and the plaza mayor


In La Calendaria and its surroundings you can find places like Capitolio Nacional where is the congres, el palacio de justicia, el Palacio Liévano the town hall, other important headquarters are La casa de Nariño, where is the recidence of the president of Colombia,  Casa del Florero, el Museo de Arte Colonial, el Museo Arqueológico Casa del Marqués de San Jorge, el Museo Militar, el Museo de Trajes Regionales el Museo de Bogotá, el Museo histórico de la Policía Nacional y las salas de exposiciones de la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango.
There are important church like, la Catedral Primada de Bogotá, la Iglesia de Santa Clara, la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, la Iglesia de San Ignacio, la Iglesia de San Agustín, la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Belén, la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Las Aguas, Iglesia de La Candelaria and la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara

Cinemas in Bogota

Here in Bogota most of the people like to go to the cinemas, because is a relax activity that you could enjoy with your family or friends, with the person you want, this is a space where you can watch a good movie.
Basicly you can find cinemas at malls, two of the most recognized cinemas are: Cine Colombia,Cine Procinal and cinemark. This cinemas are very recognized because they offer the best comfort, so if you want to go to a good cinema, i suggest you to go to the recognized ones.




Mundo Aventura a thematic park


Mundo Aventura is a thematic park located in Bogotá, Colombia. It is divided in 3 areas which are: Mundo Pombo, sabana precolombina, and Mundo natural. In each area you found different things

Mundo Pombo:
 It is round a lake, you found attractions related with histories of Rafael Pombo, you can also look for the parade with the characters of the stories, this area is more for little children, is not as extreme as the others in the park
 











Sabana precolombina: 
Is the area wich have the most extreme games in the park, it is focused on the legends and myths of indigenous cultures, you can find things like the Extreme, a large attraction that spins, also the spider and the  BlackHole

Mundo natural:
Is a special place for the nature lovers, it is a thematic area that simulate a farm, it have domestic animal and plants, also there you can take a tour for interact and feed the animal

festival iberoamericano de teatro

The Ibero-American festival is a major cultural event in Colombia and one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world.

It takes place every  year in Bogota and brings together the most important theater companies from all around the world. For seventeen days, the city becomes the setting for colorful parades; Bogotá dresses up for the party and becomes a living Theater. The festival offers the most complete panorama of performing arts :classical works, it is a showcase of dance, circus, music, puppetry, pantomime, performance art, and even concerts, many of which take place simultaneously in Bogota’s halls and streets.

Origins of the Festival


The festival was created in 1988 by actress Fanny Mickey who was from argentina but recided in colombia and playwright Ramiro Osorio, and launched as part of the 450th anniversary celebration of the founding of Bogotá.
The purpose of the event is to display the diversity and plurality of the various genres and trends of scenic arts in the world.
This novel purpose has had a direct influence on the growth of understanding and tolerance between peoples. The festival has also fostered a boom in artistic development in Colombia.


During this days you and your family can hang out and have lots of fun with the actors who are walking all over the city. This is a great plan for people who love arts and enterteinment. You can not die before you come to bogota and before you get to now its culture and people.
