La Calendaria
A neighbourhood in Bogota.
It is located at the center of bogota it is the heart of history and cultural of the city. It attract artist, turists, writers, and intellectuals, who arrived to theaters, librarys and universities. The visitors can find there the colonial houses with their tipic windows, carved gates, roof with red tiling, the town hall is always renewing the structure but saving the old that characterized it.
La Calendaria was a place to rest for de muisca named zipa, they say that in that place Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada founded what is now Bogotá. Then they founded La Plaza De Bolivar, there they founded the first church and the plaza mayor
In La Calendaria and its surroundings you can find places like Capitolio Nacional where is the congres, el palacio de justicia, el Palacio Liévano the town hall, other important headquarters are La casa de Nariño, where is the recidence of the president of Colombia, Casa del Florero, el Museo de Arte Colonial, el Museo Arqueológico Casa del Marqués de San Jorge, el Museo Militar, el Museo de Trajes Regionales el Museo de Bogotá, el Museo histórico de la Policía Nacional y las salas de exposiciones de la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango.
